How to Make the Most Expensive Smoothie in the World.

I don’t have kids, but if I did I’d sell them for food. I’ve got a nasty raw almond butter habit that will land me in jail one day. While I’m still free, let me tell you about the snack-sized smoothie we’ve been making around here that costs roughly a million dollars.

Please experience the fantasmo that is blueberries and chocolate. Not to be trifled with, this combo makes a healthy smoothie taste like a cheat-treat. (Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about.) Throw in something sweet, something smooth and flax seeds (good for the ladies) and BLAMO, you just dropped a 20.

Most recipes have a star ingredient. I’m not sure who it is in this bunch, cuz they’re all divas. Is it the grapes? 15 make the perfect sweetness; anymore and it would overpower any less and the chocolate wouldn’t pop.  The raw almond butter – $13 dollars/jar and really hard to open? It could be the coconut milk which I find to be the best smoothie liquid.  Perhaps its the Superfood which surprisingly uses an excellent quality chocolate to make this new flavor. I don’t know, you decide!  Don’t make me choose!

Start here: (recipe makes 2, snack-sized smoothies)

2T flax seeds

1 1/2 c frozen blueberries

1 c unsweetened coconut milk (or almond milk)

2T raw almond butter

15 grapes

1 1/2 scoops chocolate flavor Superfood powder

1T cocoa

2 ice cubes

Blend the flax seeds in your blender until they look like this:

Add all other ingredients except cocoa powder and Superfood. Once the mixture is smooth, add the last 2 ingredients and mix a bit further.  Pour into your favorite chalice and share with a friend.

Here they are at Homecoming:
